Description

Georgioupolis is located in Chania, on the border with the prefecture of Rethymno in northern Crete. Extends approximately 9 km to Rethymnon and the surrounding area is green and has a rich fauna. Characteristic of Georgioupolis is the small, white church that is in the water, built on a stone construction.
The beach is wide and crystal clear! Another special characteristic of the village is The river empties into the Almyros Georgioupolis, and shortly before forming a small lake that is home to many birds and animals. The lake seen from the highway, as you approach Georgioupolis from Chania. Entering the village you see many eucalyptus trees, both on the road and in the square, and a row of cypress trees create a beautiful picture.
